CELEBRATING THE ANNIVERSARY OF AVALOKITESHVARA BODHISATTVA'S ENLIGHTENMENT – 19th DAY OF THE 6TH LUNAR MONTH
EACH RECITATION OF QUAN AM'S NAME - A MOMENT OF PEACE THE LOTUS HEART BLOOMS - BLESSINGS ARISE!
/Ever dwelling in deep meditation upon Mount Potalaka,
According to karmic conditions, she delivers beings as countless as grains of sand,
Hearing the cries for help, she instantly manifests,
Illuminating all with the radiant name of Avalokiteshvara./
The 19th day of the 6th lunar month holds profound significance in Mahayana Buddhism – it is the day commemorating the Enlightenment of Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, the embodiment of boundless compassion. Though she had already attained Buddhahood, with perfect wisdom and merit fulfilled, out of deep compassion for sentient beings she vowed to manifest as a Bodhisattva – to remain close to beings, to save and support them along the path toward liberation. She serves as a lamp lighting the way out of darkness, and as a vessel carrying all beings across the sea of delusion to the shore of awakening.
No matter the circumstance, the moment we sincerely recite the name of Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, she manifests to bestow peace, to help us overcome every hardship, and to guide us like a light toward inner stillness, nurturing seeds of goodness within us. For "Quan Am" – to observe and to hear – means not merely listening, but perceiving deeply into the form and mind of all beings. As the Buddha taught in the Heart Sutra: "Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, while practicing the profound Prajnaparamita, clearly saw that all five aggregates are empty, and thus transcended all suffering and hardship."
On this joyous occasion commemorating the Enlightenment of Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, Diệu Tướng Am respectfully wishes all Venerable Monks and Nuns, devoted Buddhists, and valued customers:
