/How joyous it is
The udumbara flower has bloomed
Rivers and mountains sing in celebration
Heavenly dragons play their music
The heavens scatter flowers
Nine dragons bathe the Buddha in this Saha world
Seven steps proclaiming oneness with the universe
How wondrous it is
A sacred sign manifests to foretell the vow to deliver all beings
A transformation body appears to begin the work of salvation./

A Solemn Buddha Bathing Ceremony - Diệu Tướng Am
"When a Buddha comes into the world, a thousand Buddhas come to protect and support him. The day of the Buddha's birth is also the day when Buddhas of the ten directions come to lend their protection, and we, as future Buddhas, on this day of Vesak, awaken our aspiration to study the Dharma. We firmly believe that among the drops of water the dragons use to bathe the Buddha, there is also a part meant for us — for within each drop lies the merit of the 'Non-retrogressing Bodhisattva companionship' that forever walks alongside the future Buddhas..."
